Class of 1982 Engineering and Computer Science Center
Engineering services provided for this project involved studying the feasibility and establishing the criteria for a significant expansion of the engineering school to include computer science. Design elements within the 19+ acre project site include a new 160,000 square foot building, new and reconstructed roadways, improved utilities, stormwater mitigation, and additional parking capacity.
EV’s scope began with reviewing proposed building concepts, evaluating the site and utility impacts. EV then led the site design team through to construction documents and provided critical assistance during construction.
The proposed expansion of the Dartmouth Thayer School of Engineering Master Plan work included potential replacement of a large surface parking area with a multi-level 400 space parking garage built into a steep slope allowing access from Wheelock Street. Access to the garage, relocation of existing drives and utilities were considered as part of the evaluation.
Irving Energy Institute
Completed drainage design, local permitting and Alteration of Terrain permitting, connected new infrastructure for the energy center into the Thayer School of engineering project and reconfiguration of Tuck Mall terminus to move parking and create more green space for events. Designed underground detention chamber system. Designed site improvements to utilities including hot and chilled water system to reroute existing utilities to accommodate new building layout.
Old Tuck Drive
Engineering Ventures provide design, permitting, and construction administration serviced for the reconstruction of Old Tuck Drive on the Dartmouth College campus.
The project included a complete reconstruction of 2,400 linear feet of historic roadway located within a ravine with steep slopes and 100+ year old retaining walls on both sides. Work included improving intersections, adding sidewalks and pedestrian accommodations, upgrading truck access, improving stormwater infrastructure, and replacing an existing sewer line.
