Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, VT

Numerous projects have been completed for this facility including:

  • Temporary Emergency Department Entrance – Engineering services were provided for a proposed temporary Emergency Department entrance building (approximately 1,000sf) and adjacent hallway to provide a safe and sheltered means for the public to access the department while excavation for the new facility was underway.
  • MRI Addition – Structural services were provided for this challenging addition to FAHC.  Project planning included constructing the new space in a stepped and tiered fashion on top of existing buildings and down 15 feet below ground elevations.  The new addition is stepped over three levels and is more than 40 feet high in elevation.
  • Modular Units – This expansion project included a major new facility, a new parking garage, a complete change to existing traffic patterns, and a reversal of the main entrance from the north side of the campus to the south side. Modular buildings were fabricated offsite and erected in a very short time period. An intricate concrete footing and pier layout was designed to avoid impacting the existing utilities.
