Clark Agnew, P.E. and Sara Dorr, E.I., took a trip to the VT State House last Friday to observe the Ceres statue raising. They loved seeing their structural engineering design in action as the yellow temporary lifting steel structure and internal steel support mast provided enduring stability for her return home to the top of the dome.
Once lifted and placed, the statue was connected to the refurbished dome with beefy (that’s a technical term!) steel plates and cushioned with neoprene pads. Additional reinforcing was added within the statue pedestal to keep her safely affixed for years to come.
Check out the very cool video at the bottom of this post!!
