Civil/Site Engineer – Lebanon Office

Who We Are
Engineering Ventures is a group of 31 people in 3 offices dedicated to helping non-profits, businesses, municipalities, and individuals solve complex problems. We are an established firm operating for 27 years in our Burlington VT office, 15 years in our Lebanon NH office, and 3 years in our newest office in Schenectady NY. Engineering Ventures is seeking a qualified candidate for our Lebanon office.

What We Do
We work on a wide variety of projects including urban redevelopment projects, medical facilities, municipal infrastructure improvements, and private development. Our clients include architects, universities, hospitals, municipalities, non-profits, private developers, and homeowners. These projects range from large-team -multidisciplinary projects to ones where we work directly for a homeowner or municipality.

Who You Are
Our work is fast-paced and varied, so our staff needs to be sharp and self-motivated. Strong technical and communication skills are critical. Schedule flexibility and willingness to complete assignments as workloads dictate is necessary. Preferred 0 to 5 Years Experience. The following are required of applicants:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 0 to 5 years of relevant experience in civil / site design, including working knowledge of AutoCAD software. Civil 3D and HydroCAD experience preferred.
• EIT certification, with the expectation to become a registered PE in New Hampshire within 5 years.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant design experience in site design, utilities, and permitting.

What We Expect
Some specific initial responsibilities/expectations will likely include:
• AutoCAD based drafting from redlines and design/draft.
• Stormwater design and permitting in NH and VT.
• Water and Sewer utility design.
• On-site septic design and permitting.
• General site civil design and permitting.
• Field work (survey, soils review, construction administration).

We encourage professional growth with both in-house and external training, but also expect employees to take initiative for their own development. As technical and management skills improve, engineers are expected to take on larger roles in project design and client contacts.

About This Office
Lebanon, NH is a multicultural hub for the region. Amenities include regular food cart service within walking distance to the office. Farmers markets on Thursday afternoons within walking distance offering a variety of foods from several different regions of the world and locally made microbrews.

The upper valley has vast recreational opportunities including skiing, fishing, hiking, world class cycling; within minutes of downtown. Close to Mascoma Lake and the Connecticut River.

Excellent skiing opportunities on both the Vermont and New Hampshire side of the river including Mt. Sunapee and Killington close by. Educational institutions: Center for Cartoon Studies just over the river in Hartford, VT, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH.
